Whilst searching for a single man driven sports car I came across this confusing design from American Designer Leonardo Lopez and thought about sharing the design with you folks here over automotto. Weird as it is, the Mantiz Concept Automobile chooses lines that fail to impress a naked eye. The only part which I do like about the design is the rare set of wheels that adorn it. I also believe that a touch finer detail on the lines would have made us superior comprehend that streamlining which is missing to state the least. The designer is aware of the modelling flaws himself as he pits it across as a weekend warrior single person sports vehicle. Powered by an engine in the rear it chooses to let go the side windows as well. Our rave reviews aside this automobile has already found its admirers who want it to be affixed with a track vehicle like gear system. Concurred that we can think of it with that gear-shift but even that doesn’t please us. Automobile designing has to be about beautiful lines even if it is single man driven sports automobile and from that angle I merely see it as a mess.

Alfa Romeo’s have always been evocative automobiles that have been a large draw with both elderly vehicle connoisseurs and wild eyed teens going bonkers over them. Now we have Alfa Romeo’s latest hatchback, the MiTo sculpted absolutely out of solid ice. This ice sculpture was made to promote the MiTo in front of almost 3000 intrepid Alfa Romeo nuts from central and eastern Europe who gathered at Esztergorm, Hungary, last weekend. The ice sculpture was carved out with, believe it or not, a chainsaw, right in front of the gathered crowd. Coming to MiTo ice sculpture, we’re pretty amazed at the well defined lines right to the alloy wheels and still gasping at the fact that all this has been done with a chainsaw. The man/woman who has managed to create this icy stunner of a sculpture, must be one very talented person. By the looks of it, we think that Alfa Romeo has got one more thrilling machine lined up in the MiTo.

We don’t know who exactly has created this audacious car based on the venerable Volkswagen Beetle, but we do appreciate their imagination and creativity. This Volkswagen Beetle is painted a hot red and is modded to look like a a red piggy, er, we mean a wild boar with a red snout upfront replete with tusks. The car also has red fake spikes on its top and has wild boar rear legs just behind the front doors. Other cosmetic changes are the presence of massive flared wheel wells and nice looking alloy wheels. Overall, a wild, wacky concept that’ll be loved and hated in equal measure by Beetle fans.

Spanish auto manufacturer GTA motor has unveiled plans to make just 99 of their new super-exclusive 800-horsepower concept automobile. Though the new GTA is still a 1:4 scale model, we like the look of what it promises. With a carbon, Kevlar and titanium construction, the new vehicle features a massive panorama roof to let you make the best of your sunset drive while a Pontiac V10 engine will let you vroom around with a ripping top speed of 340 km/h. th most special thing about this car, though, has got to be the fact that it is absolutely hand built, and will also come laced with a six-speed gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes. The firm plans to put the concept’s 1:1 prototype into production with the vehicle ready to hit the showroom in 2009.

You can have your cake and eat it too with the new Tiguan from Volkswagen. The Tiguan is a SUV that combines a segment topping frugality of 40.4 mpg with some serious power and torque beneath it’s hood. The Tiguan has a very efficient and powerful common rail diesel engine with power rating of 170 PS and a locomotive like torque of 258 lb/ft. And the greens too will be happy with the Tiguan as it produces only 185 grams of CO2 per kilometre.
All this power and torque propels the Tiguan to a very respectable top speed of 125 mph and nought to sixty comes in 8.2 seconds. Safety and stability also ride along with the Tiguan’s six airbags and electronic stability program. Other goodies are a semi automatic climate control and a touchscreen entertainment panel. The Tiguan’s base version goes for GBP 22670 with the sport version being marginally more costly at GBP 23370.
