Aston Martin has legendary cars to its name, but the marque may get a chance to put buses with the Aston Martin badge on the roads of London. The automaker and architects Foster + Partners have won the design competition for a new Routemaster bus for London. They share the top spot with a design from Capoco Design Ltd. Being the winners, Aston Martin may get the contract for building the replacement of the Routemaster. But that is still a little further off, as Transport for London will announce the contract only by the end of 2009.

Aston’s powerful 4.7-l V8 Vantage is a treat, but the automaker doesn’t want those with the 4.3-l engine to remain at a lower power. To that end, the company has released a performance kit tailored for the 4.3-l V8 Vantage. The kit will increase power by 20 bhp to 400 bhp, and torque by 8 lb ft to 310 lb ft.

People part with loads of cash to get their hands on their dreamcar, but this goes to the point of insanity! Reportedly, a man happily parted with £200,000 to own James Bond’s vehicle from the upcoming motion picture ‘Quantum of Solace’. This car happens to be one of half dozen Astons the British spy drives around in the movie, the only difference… it was a wreck! This DBS had ended up in an Italian lake, waiting to be carried to a scrap yard. And that’s probably when someone with a truckload of cash showed up and decided to add this wreck to a collection of junk.
